#2. Machakara Balamurugan Temple

The uniqueness of this Sri Murugan temple is that the Lord Muruga graces the holy temple here in the form of a pretty little boy. The vimana here has been created in the peacock design, which is the Lord Muruga’s Vahan. On auspicious days and during festivals, the Lord is decorated with kumkum on his cheek, covering a mole that can only be seen on such occasions.

Dressed each day with clothes the colour of the planet ruling the day, the Lord blesses those who pray with this particular colour of clothing. The Lord comes around in procession during the evenings.

#3. Shri Maha Varahi Temple

This is the temple of Varahi, the Goddess of earth. With the face of a boar and eyes that are sharp and penetrating, Varahi is considered by Hindus to be the Shakthi who takes devotees closer to Sri Lalitha. The unprecedented popularity of this temple is the belief that chanting the name of the Goddess three times consecutively here relieves one of all problems.

#4. Sivan Temple

The famous Kailasanathar temple in Vanagaram has been dedicated to Sri Shiva known as Kailasanathar. This temple is ancient and has a history that dates back very long. Naturally, it draws people from various parts of the city to worship Lord Shiva and get His blessings.

#5. Kanniyamman Temple

#6. Sri Angala Pramesawari Temple

Devotees pray Sri Angala Parameswari for child boon. It is the belief here that those praying the Goddess will be relieved of family problems and issues related to marriage proposals. A significant portion of the devotees is women. Filled with the holy fragrance of turmeric and kumkum, the temple presents the Goddess with her mouth open.
